Wedding Guide: The Maids

Finding the right dress for the women standing beside you on your big day can be one of the biggest challenges. Your bridesmaids most likely comprise of a whole range of body types, ages, coloring, and preferences that make this process very tricky. One way to go for varying body types is to offer different body styles to accommodate each girls body differences. It also makes for some cute pictures with every dress in a different style! If you envision all your bridesmaid dresses in the same dress then there are some safe body types that look good on most women: the wrap dress or a shift with a sleeve are generally two easy bodies. Whatever your preference ,the last tip is to think outside the box, it doesn’t need to be officially on the market as a bridesmaid dress, look for just a cute dress that you would wear to a nice party and you may find a winner that all your girls will love! Below are 10 options from J Crew, Shop Bop and Nordstrom.

To The Max

Just arrived in Beirut, Lebanon and this city is all about fashion and glamour! It’s packed with amazing restaurants, nightly hotspots, fabulous shops, and even more fabulously dressed women. The women in Beirut are effortlessly chic and always impeccably dressed. My motto for Beirut, it’s culture, it’s people is: “To The Max” everything here is done to the 9′s. No detail in an outfit, a restaurant, or a club is left undone. This theme leaves me with maxi skirts on the brain. They are showing up in gorgeous colors, prints and fabrics this season. They are the perfect piece to create that effortlessly chic look whether you’re in a bustling city, by the beach, or lunching with friends.

Wearing a maxi skirt and a silk blouse I am getting ready to hit the boutiques and see where this fashion city is headed. I am so looking forward to being reinvigorated by the energetic and creative pulse that is Beirut. When I must leave this city it’s always fashionably inspired and re-energized, so stay tuned, posts to follow are sure to be enlightened, “To the Max.”

In the Nude

Weaving through the in’s and outs of each season’s, must do, must not, must have, want, need, etc can be exhausting and daunting for most of us. This week what inspired me most was the word simplify. Don’t get me wrong, I love the fancy, tricky, loud, over the top outfits and accessories as much as the next girl, but sometimes in the fast pace of all our lives it feels nice to get back to the basics. Here are four photos that inspired me this week to bring it back to the simple elegance that your outfits can be with great neutrals (yes gold is a “neutral”). They go with everything and in the wise words of one of my dear friends, “there is nothing like a good nude!”

To Do

To stroll through a city in a chic outfit with a great friend,

To play and work in more closets like this,

To be able to apply red lipstick without a mirror,

More nights like this with girlfriends in fab outfits!

Attend a grand party in a super dramatic lace dress,

Travel in style,

Have a gorgeous chandelier in my office,

Find these espadrilles and wear them,

More importantly, just after the lipstick challenge,

And we do!

Style Future

As the New Year is fast upon us, it has me reflecting on outfits past and looking ahead into the style future. Clothing is a reflection of one’s mood and personality. It tells the world so much about you; where you are in your life, where you are going, how you are feeling, what’s on your mind and so on. It is total insight without saying a thing! For that reason, among many others, clothing holds such a powerful place in my life.

What will be in your style future? From an age old Christmas theme, perhaps since I am still staring at my Christmas tree that I need to take down, the idea of naughty vs nice keeps popping up. My favorite thing to do with outfits is contrast, toughen up a girly dress, black with beige, boots with a maxi for a boho look, you get the idea! It is fascinating what a simple accessory or piece of clothing can do to an entire outfit! What is in your style future?

Naughty?

Nice?

Or even better a combination of both!

A Fashionable Guide to Thanksgiving

I am thankful that…

fur is still in, so you can be cozy on Thanksgiving and look fab at the same time,

that bold bright colors are big this year, to liven up those dreary winter days,

that ponchos and capes can be found at all stores so EAT UP,

that big red lips are all the rage, so dive into that delicious cherry pie! It matches your lipstick after all,

that native prints are on tons of blouses and dresses so it’s fashionable to dress the part when recreating the first thanksgiving,

that there are gorgeous feathers to clip into your hair in commemoration of Turkey Day,

that Green Bay is playing on Thanksgiving Day because let’s face it, true green is such a hot color and looks good on almost everyone,

that turkey’s don’t fall into the animal print category so it’s not a faux pas to wear my leopard blouse,

that the chucky heel is back, makes it easier not to have to cook in stilettos,

and lastly I am thankful that someone else is cooking Thanksgiving dinner, we do closets not kitchens.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
