In the Nude

Weaving through the in’s and outs of each season’s, must do, must not, must have, want, need, etc can be exhausting and daunting for most of us. This week what inspired me most was the word simplify. Don’t get me wrong, I love the fancy, tricky, loud, over the top outfits and accessories as much as the next girl, but sometimes in the fast pace of all our lives it feels nice to get back to the basics. Here are four photos that inspired me this week to bring it back to the simple elegance that your outfits can be with great neutrals (yes gold is a “neutral”). They go with everything and in the wise words of one of my dear friends, “there is nothing like a good nude!”

DIY Jewelry Organization

Jewelry is the best way to dress up an outfit.  We search from store to store for the perfect jewelry piece and are proud when we find it.  The problem is….how to store them?  We believe that jewelry, like art, is best displayed in your closet right where you can see it.  It adds a bit of sparkle and color to your space and hung creatively allows you to maximize your closet space and allows you to see what you actually have.  How many of you have bought gold bangles to only remember later that you already have 2 sets???  With these creative ways to hang your jewelry(courtesy of www.pinterest.com), you will be reminded daily of what you have.

You can buy a frame at Ikea like this any thrift store and just staple lace or wire to the back.  Voila!

Genius!  Coke bottles for bracelets!

Love this idea!  Easy to get to all your necklaces without worrying they will get tangled up.

Paint the rake for some color!

Radiator coveres from Home Depot.  Pretty and so effecient!  Just add a frame!

Pieces of wood painted or covered in fabric with hooks…this is instant & personalized closet decor!

Fashion Banking 101

Trends come and go and while it is fun to splurge on those items each season, it is important to have a good base to start. A great bag and a classic pair of black pumps are must haves and if you invest in these items they will last you for years to come, season in and season out. There are ways to incorporate the trends without breaking the bank and you are better off to put your money into a classic bag and shoe as your “investment” pieces. These will hold their value, give you the most return on your money, and stand the true test of fashion time. Scarves and jewelry you can find great deals on and are a great way to incorporate the prints, colors, and textures of a season. Add these accessories to any outfit, with your great bag and shoes, and you are good to go!

P.S Vogue is another great investment :)
