Mod Moment

The 60′s had some amazing style brought to life and solidified in fashion history by some serious style icons. Brigitte Bardot, Jane Birkin, Twiggy, and Jackie O are among some of the infamous. 60′s shift dresses, high necklines, short hem lines, boho hats, matte makeup, big statement jewelry, boots and chunky platforms still inspire us today. Andddd naturally, we were beyond excited to see spring’s runways having a serious Mod moment!

Going Green

I waited intentionally until after St Patty’s day to write this post because this year green does not end with our favorite Irish holiday. Green of all hues is a big trend that started appearing on the spring runways and then was all over the runways for fall. Green has shown up on every wardrobe piece from dresses, to denim, to gorgeous blouses. The good news is many shades of green work well for both blondes with fairer skin and olivey brunettes. It can be paired with silver or kicked up a notch with gold accessories. Wear it back to denim, black, white, or for a true statement, pair it with coral or mustard. Here are some of my favorite “green” looks to give you some ideas of shades and pairings, all courtesy of Shop Bop.

The Bold and The Beautiful

Spring 2012 is just around the corner and boy what a splash it will make. Spring shook up the fall 2011 runways for good reason, it is bolder and brighter then ever! While fall and winter are my favorite fashion seasons I have never been so excited for spring styles. Looking through trend reports and new items on all my e-shopping haunts left me feeling exhilarated, refreshed, and enlightened. The first spring trend to tackle is neon. I mean it is EVERYWHERE, there is no category that it has not taken over and with these pictures you will see why. I have never seen colors translated this beautifully and so richly.

This trend has permeated so deeply and I can’t say I have seen anything like it; from beauty, to shoes, handbags, clothing, accessories and even home decor! It all started with the runways and after that ways to incorporate neon with neutrals or as pops of color in your outfits. But alas for the bold and the brave full neon head to toe will leave anyone in the limelight of perfection!

Ways to incorporate these neon pops of color!

Swim is a great place to use your neon!

Not for the faint of heart or spirit! The full on outfit!

Your Fall Face

Now that your closet is full of your fall must haves: statement fur, bright colors, a chunky heel, cord bell bottoms, anything in bordeaux and anything in leather, don’t forget about your most important asset…your face! Rich, bold hues translated from ready to wear straight to the makeup counters. The word is Glam. Rich lip sticks, smokey lids with bright colors, and a bold nail polish will perfectly finish off your fall outfits. Here are my favorite looks courtesy of www.neimanmarcus.com

The Chunky Heel

Just when our shoe collection is filled with stilettos, sandals and boots with thinner then thin heels, here they come, strutting down the runways and popping up in every shop window. The chunky heel is back and it’s making a statement this fall.
